Are You a Big Godder?

In our text this week we saw Daniel and his friends in a humanly impossible situation. King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that he wanted both revealed and interpreted. He called on all of his advisors, but of course, none of them were able to meet what they considered an “unreasonable demand.” Under threat of death, Daniel immediately realized that they were trying to answer something that only an omniscient God could do.

Perhaps you’re going through what you feel is an impossible situation. You’ve tossed and turned and stressed until you’re sick trying every which way you can think of it to fix it on your own, coming to grips with the realization that you can’t. I have some strong medicine for you…Elevate your view of God! Learn to say, “I can’t, but God can.” Your impossible situation plus urgency is the perfect opportunity for God to work. Trust that He is in control and is actively working in your life for good.

Daniel confidently went to this powerful King and told him that he would reveal his dream,  knowing that his God was both willing and able. He rushed to meet with his three Hebrew friends as they poured out in fervent prayer to the omniscient God of heaven asking for His compassion on them in their time of desperate need. God did reveal the King’s secret to Daniel that night and showed Himself to be superior to all the false gods of the Babylonians.

I want to encourage you to be what Robert Wilson calls a Big Godder, that is, someone that has a great God. He speaks and it is done. He commands and it stands. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all life. He can do the impossible for those who fear Him.

God works best in humanly impossible situations. That situation you’re facing that you can’t handle. Humble yourself before Him and Let Him work in ways you can’t even imagine or understand. He is good all the time, and all the time, He is good.

Press on!
